Three significqant events in my life have been, coming to the united states, joing the early identification program, EIP and starting college. I came to the united states when I was eleven years old. Like many I came to the country illegally trhough the US and Mexico border. However since my mother had asylum I was able to gain legal status and just acouple of years ago I became a US citizen. Coming to the US at an early age open the door for me to get a better education. Joinging the EIP prohram helped me underatnd what I needed to know to getting into college. One of the first draw backs that first generation college bound students face is that they do not know how the system works. EIP helped me learn all that I needed to know to apply for colleges and scholarships. Bceasue of EIP I took advanced courses in high school. It was on my advanced physics class where I first comtemplated becoming an electrical engineer. I remember that we started learning about electricity. I though the topic was very cool and interesting. I asked my professor what did was studying before he became a teacher and he said was was trying to become an electrical engineer. Starting college was also very important event for me. This was the culmination of all my hard work in high school. I am the fisrt of my family to attend college and I am really proud of that. I want to be the first to not only graduate but to also go beyond to get a masters degree and possible a Phd.
